Things I Love Thursday: Natural Skincare

Giveaway is over! The winner is  #14, sarahespn! Sarah, I will e-mail you and get your info to Antebellum Naturals!

I am a wee bit lazy. Perhaps you hadn’t figured that one out yet. (Heh.) I confess I take very bad care of my skin (although I do wear sunscreen if I’ll be outside for more than half an hour). I wash my face sporadically. I never take my mascara off.

I’m not sure Janice from Antebellum Naturals knew what she was getting into when she offered to send me some of her products to try out. I like trying new things, though, and all her products are safe for pregnancy because they are completely natural–and also not tested on animals.

I got a very cute little bag with a dozen samples of natural products. Body scrubs, facial cleansers, lotions, and even a microdermabrasion cream found their way into my bathroom!

The clean, fresh scents of the products won me over. The only truly scented products were “flavored” with citrus or sugar. If you like scented products, the sugarbutter body scrub was divine! I love body scrubs and I always have.

Unfortunately, many of the products I tested are not available yet from the newly formed company. I was bummed that my favorite, the Botanical Bio-Peptide Cream (a heavy moisturizer), is not on the site. Janice explained to me that the item’s price had gone up and she didn’t want to overprice her products. So that, I can understand. Another favorite, a loofah scrub with ground-up corn as the scrubber, Janice assures me is on backorder but will be available in a few weeks.

I do love the feeling that my bath and body products are not harming the environment, being tested on animals, or are full of chemicals. I would definitely purchase some of these products on my own, as I think they are very reasonably priced compared to other natural lines.

BUY IT! If you’d like to purchase any of the Antebellum Naturals products, you can have a 25% discount and free shipping if you order before July 23. E-mail your order to Janet with the code VANDERBILTWIFE.

WIN IT! Antebellum Naturals is giving away a sample bag identical to the one I received for one of my readers. To win, simply go to the Antebellum Naturals site and tell me one product you’d like to try and why. (Use the buttons on the sidebar to see the various products.)

For an extra entry, Tweet this giveaway, making sure to put @vanderbiltwife somewhere in your Tweet.  Please leave a separate comment telling me you did this.

For ANOTHER extra entry, join Jill’s Things I Love Thursday carnival this week (6/24) and leave me a comment letting me know you did.

You have until Wednesday, June 30 at noon to enter. PLEASE make sure either your e-mail is linked to your Blogger account or you leave it in the comment.

  1. Wow, those products look amazing! I would love to be able to read more about the company, but I can definitely understand just starting out.

My favorite product that I would like to try is the Shine Free Solution, but I'd also like to try the Clarifying Toner (WAY cool that it doesn't have salacylic acid!!!!), and also the Special Clay Masque – there are no where near enough good masques in the world anymore!

Thanks for trying these products and giving such an informative review – I will definitely put these on my list!

  2. I would love to try the Zinc face mask. Especially in the summer, I have a hard time with oily skin and zinc is supposed to be really great for combating the oil slicks that form in my t-zone.

    These products look so wonderful!

  3. Coolness! My skin has just been getting more and more sensitive. I would love to try the Shine Free Solution, too.

  4. I'd love to try the shine free solution. In the summer, my face seems to be an oil slick by noon. The irony is that as I've aged, my skin has gone from consistently oily all over to dryer in certain spots. This sounds like it could do the trick for both.

  5. I definitely feel in need of the Firming Complex under treatments. Much like you, I do not take care of my skin the way I should…sad, but true…it shows!

  6. I would love to try the Moisture Replenishing Creme. I always have a hard time finding one that I like to use on my face. sarahespn at gmail dot com

  7. The Moisture Replenishing Cream looks fantastic. I am always looking for a good moisturizer that handles combination skin well.

  8. I too am not very good about taking care of my skin (so glad to read I'm not the only one who doesn't diligently wash her face before bed). The shine free solution sounds like a great product as does the pore purifying astringent. I haven't used a toner in years and I know I need to. Breaking out as we speak. 🙂

  9. I want to try everything! I especially want to try the Crystal Clarity Microdermabrasion Creme because I am always looking for good facial scrub products to reduce the large pores I have.

  10. These look great!! I think I would pick the Sugar Sweet Body Wash. How fun that you get to help this new company along 🙂

  11. I actually came over from TILT @ Diaper Diaries – already linked up 🙂

  12. This reminds me that I really need to start using natural skin care. I'm almost out of the stuff I've been using and I'm not sure what to buy next. I'll check out her site.

  13. I would love to try the advanced firming complex! Thanks for hosting this contest 🙂 Ilove natural goodies and regularly use olive oil and honey on my face and take my Vidazorb OPC age defense probiotic. That is it though! These work great but I would love to compliment them with some other things too! @smilinggreenmom on Twitter and smilinggreenmom(at)gmail(dot)com

  14. I am new to your blog and i love it! I checked out the products and I think I would love to try them all…but one that I would like to see if it works on my face is the "Shine Free Solution".
