Giveaway is now closed. The winner is #43, Nesting Project (Rosy)! Congratulations!

A few months ago, I was contacted by a company to try out their Imprint Comfort Mats. The company makes the following promises about their mats:

✓ Reduces overall fatigue and pain associated with standing on hard surfaces
✓ Beneficial to individuals with back, thigh and lower leg or foot discomfort
✓ Conforms to the shape of your feet and supports your arches resulting in soothing relief

I was VERY skeptical, but my cousin Tricia had already raved about the mats, which gave me some hope.  I am pregnant, have scoliosis, and often do long cooking sessions in the kitchen which usually kill my back. I have the hardest time with OAMC because of the constant leaning over, standing, and chopping. My back just does not like long times standing on hard surfaces. (I even quit a retail job after 6 weeks mainly because of this issue.)

I won’t say that the Imprint Mat is a miracle-worker, but I have definitely had less back pain in the kitchen. When I did my mini-OAMC session in July, my only complaint was that I needed to move my mat back and forth from in front of the sink, the stove, and the counter where I chop!

It’s like they read my mind, because soon after I received the longer (20″x72″) runner mat in the mail. Hallelujah!! Now the mats line all my counters and I am happy as a clam. Seriously, these things are amazing.

They come in two sizes: the runner, as listed above; and standard, which is 20″x36″.

I sure wish this were my kitchen. Don’t you?
I only wish the price point were not quite so high. Being a cheapskate, I would have a difficult time paying $70 for a kitchen mat. It’s almost silly, though, because $70 would have saved me SO much back pain and agony it would totally be worth it.

If you’re also cheap, you’re in luck, because you have the chance to WIN a standard Imprint Mat! To enter, go to their site and tell me what your favorite feature about the mat is.

  1. I love that is washable. I like having a mat by the kitchen sink but it always gets so dirty with little ones.

  2. we just moved to a new home… had to give up my dishwasher in order to get another bedroom and more space for my family of 6 (that's a lot of dishes) so the anti-fatigue, no pain feature would be a real winner!!!

  3. i have been shopping around for one of these! i like that it's washable and doesn't look "commercial grade" you know? 🙂 thanks for the chance to win! eryn04 at yahoo

  4. I like that it's stain resistant because it would probably go on the kitchen floor for me. I can relate to the pain thing. I won't spend long amounts of time in my kitchen with no shoes on because our floor is vinyl on top of the concrete slab. Thanks for the opportunity!

  5. Oh I love the fact that they would help my back and feet from my hours of bread making in the kitchen. And washable!! omg it dosnt get any better

    Oh and I tweeted @WyattFamilyFarm

  6. I like that it it's anti-fungal. I would love to try one. My back hurts so bad when i do alot of cooking. I love to cook ahead and freeze. It makes supper so easy.

  7. My favorite feature is: Environmentally Friendly & Safe! Non toxic, phthalate free, no formaldehyde or other toxic heavy metals used in production.

    w00t!

  8. I can't help but love the fact that it provides 50% less buttocks fatigue. Not a major issue for me, like the foot pain, back pain, etc. but that really made me laugh. Now I am going to have cheek pain from laughing. Ha.

  9. I would love to win this mat for my husband (haha, the one who does most of our cooking and kitchen-cleaning) because he has back pain and the poor guy wears his shoes whenever he's in our kitchen to help with the pain–I'd love a comfy mat for him to stand on when washing dishes especially. My fave feature is that it has a non-slip bottom–my current kitchen mat wanders. 😉 Thanks for the chance!

  11. My crunchy side loves the non-toxic, environmentally friendly side. We had looked into these types of mats before and I was always scared by the unknown or PVC contents!

  12. I like how the mats come in the basketweave and cobblestone designs and in different color choices!! I would love to add one of these to my classroom since I am on my feet teaching kiddos every day!!! Thanks!

  13. I like that it is washable. I recently bought a kitchen rug that I didn't realize was spot clean only – worst idea ever! I threw it away after a couple of weeks.

  14. THe fact that it is good for legs and back. I have degenerative discs issues and this looks like it would be extremely helpful.

  15. Want, want, want. I love all the usual benefits (my back and feet kill me when I stand too long 🙁 ) but I also like that they're antibacterial and aren't likely to mold, ew.

  16. Oh, any less back and leg pain would be great! Our house is on a slab, and I've been feeling it since we moved in 2 years ago. This mat would be GREAT!

  17. I love the idea of something easier on my feet! I love to be barefoot, but I have high arches and they ACHE on my tile floor. Looks great!

  18. I love the fact that it doesn't move! So many mats I have continue to shift all over the place! The comfort on my feet isn't bad either…
