What I Wore Wednesday 9.25.13

cardigan, tank, jeans, boots

cami: Avenue. tank: Christopher and Banks. jeans: Avenue. boots: Etienne Aigner ankle boots I got years ago off eBay.

Why mess with a good thing, right? I should have worn the long necklace I wore a couple of weeks ago, too! I’m not digging the ankle boots with skinny jeans. This may be the year I have to buy riding boots since I’ve embraced skinnier jeans. They aren’t cheap when you have wide-wide-width calves, but I think I would wear them a lot. Any suggestions?

dress and cami, boots

Cami: Avenue. Dress: New York & Company, hand-me-down from my sister (similar). boots: Etienne Aigner – they obviously need polished in a major way.

This is what I wore to my cousin’s bridal shower on Saturday. I wish I had a picture with the camel-colored jacket I had on. I think it looked better that way. Now that I see the pictures I’m kind of “eh” about the dress. It felt cute, but not sure it looks great.

Lucky ikat top, Vigoss jeans

top: Lucky Brand ikat top via Amazon (who knew?! It’s only $17 now, less than I paid. Love this shirt!). jeans: Vigoss skinny (very similar). shoes: Dr. Scholl’s Jamie c/o Famous Footwear at Blissdom ’12.

This top was in my first shipment from Gwynnie Bee, and I loved it. But I wasn’t going to spend $50 on a t-shirt. I’ve been stalking it online and was so sad when it finally went down to what I would pay on the Lucky site and they no longer had my size. But I searched for it on ShopStyle, I think, and saw they had it on Amazon! Score! Cute shirt, I get free shipping with Prime, happy all around.

So this week’s question is one I have burning deep inside: is there a difference between ankle boots and booties?

  1. If you invest in boots-you will wear them and love them all the time. Promise 🙂 They instantly ‘make’ an oufit. But I think the ankle boots look really nice with your skinnies. Perfect for those fall days that might be just a tad warm for riding boots.
(all the outfits are cute, btw. I’m glad you’re joining the WIWW thing!)
